It can be overwhelming to navigate this world of products, media and content—should you buy that moisturizer? What TikTok shouldn’t you scroll past? Is that TV show really worth the hype? To help ELLE Canada readers stay in the know, every month, we’re going to be sharing what we’ve been loving throughout the month—from beauty to clothing to movies. Think of it as the crème de la crème of recommendations.
Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil, Herbivore Botanicals
If you struggle with acne-prone or oily skin (which typically go hand-in-hand), the idea of using a face oil seems absolutely scary. But have no fear, the Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil is going to become a staple in your skincare routine—yes, oily skin needs moisture too and can get dehydrated—this can lead to dry patches and skin that feels unbalanced. The face oil can be used in the morning and night and should be applied with four to six drops to absorb into the skin. Your skin will thank you!

Rosewood Hotel Georgia Alchemy of Sleep Retreat
If you’re in Vancouver, or are in need of a west coast vacay, the Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s Alchemy of Sleep Retreat is right up your (and our) alley. With a holistic approach to sleep, the four day retreat addresses a variety of practices involving nutrition, movement and mindfulness, presenting a mix of treatments and experiences, expert consultations and classes that ensure each guest finds skills to incorporate into their everyday lives. The retreats include a three-night ‘Sleep Transformation’ and a one-night ‘Dreamscape’ which includes unique turndown amenities from a signature sleep tea ritual to in-room Canadian wilderness deep sleep forest bathing. We feel relaxed just writing this.
The Power of the Dog
While western period pieces aren’t for everyone, Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog is a must-see—and is currently available to stream on Netflix. Based on the 1967 novel by Thomas Savage, the film follows a domineering rancher (Benedict Cumberbatch) who responds with mocking cruelty to his brother (Jesse Plemons) who brings home a new wife (Kirsten Dunst) and her son, until the unexpected comes to fruition. The Power of the Dog covers themes such as love, grief, resentment, jealousy and sexuality, which is everything we need for a good drama. The film is nominated for 12 Oscars, and has given iconic ‘90s and early 2000s icon and actress, Kirsten Dunst her first Oscar nominee.
Once Twice Melody, Beach House
We can feel the warm weather coming soon, thanks to Beach House’s eighth-studio album Once Twice Melody. After a three-year hiatus the Baltimore, Maryland duo is back and better than ever. The double album consists of 18 songs—one of the standout tracks being the opening track, which shares a name with the album. While the sounds of Beach House are still grounded in dream pop, there are sounds of psychedelic rock and synth-pop that feels exploratory for the duo. In the spring and summer, Beach House will be going on tour, making Canadian stops in Vancouver (April 5), Toronto (July 15) and Montreal (July 16) to promote the new album.
