There might just be a new athletic power couple in town: Team Canada Olympic figure skating champ Tessa Virtue and Toronto Maple Leafs player Morgan Rielly are reportedly dating.

Fans have suspected Virtue and Rielly were in a relationship since they appeared together at the “Night With Blue and White” MLSE Foundation gala in January, though neither Virtue or Rielly have confirmed this to be true.

Rielly’s teammate, Auston Matthews, however, talked about the couple as a guest on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast a few weeks ago (though he never refers to Virtue by name). “I was really pissed because me and [Rielly] would go to the Raps game every year when Russell Westbrook would come, so we’d always sit courtside,” said Matthews. “This year, he didn’t go with me because his girlfriend was in town and that’s where it really fell off for me.”

“I was pretty upset with him for a while and I would chirp him and stuff like that because he kind of kept it quiet,” Matthews added. “I met her and she’s an absolute sweetheart. So I was like, ‘Okay, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt now, she’s cool.’”

Virtue and Rielly appeared on the Arkells’ “Flatten the Curve” livestream yesterday and spoke with frontman Max Kerman about their gratitude for frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Though they haven’t officially confirmed their relationship, they appear to be self-isolating together in Vancouver. And from watching the sweet clip below, it looks like they are enjoying each other’s company.
