After two years of the pandemic, weddings are in full swing—and plenty of celebrities are walking down the aisle this year, giving us tons of inspiration.

Modern brides are opting for minimalism and chic silhouettes yet adding in newer details and embroidery to kick it up a notch. There have been many celebrity weddings this year that dictated and showcased some of the hottest bridal trends for 2022.

From fitted silhouettes to Bridgerton-inspired corset gowns, the ethereal pieces are romantic, sexy and just the right amount of chic to walk down the aisle.  Here are some runway and celebrity-inspired trends for 2022.

Corset-Inspired

Thanks to Bridgerton, corset bodices and bustier tops are back for bridal trends. The regency-inspired fashion quickly became a breathtaking number on runways and at weddings as it helps accentuate the hourglass body shape. Alexis Mabille’s spring-summer 2022 Haute Couture show had a gorgeous corset fitted piece that ruled the runway and was surely a hit number. Other designers who incorporated this structural element into their dresses include Eisen-Stein, The Atelier Couture by Professor Jimmy Choom Galia Lahav, Ines by Ines Di Santo, Houghton by Katharine Polk, Nadia Manjarrez Studio Bridal, Kim Kassas Couture and Vivienne Westwood.

Tulle

Chic ballgowns with layers of tulle have been growing in popularity year after year. Take a cue from Billie Lourd, the daughter of the late actress Carrie Fisher, who wore a white off-the-shoulder tulle gown with a sweetheart neckline on her wedding day earlier this year.

Square Necklines

The ’90s fashion trend continues to dominate, and the universally flattering square necklines are a new bridal trend that works for everyone. Nicola Peltz-Beckham, who tied the knot to Brooklyn Beckham in a lavish wedding, wore a custom wedding gown by Valentino. It boasted a square neckline with a fitted silhouette, a long train and a lace veil.

Lace, lace, lace

You can never go wrong with lace. It is chic, classic and elegant. For her wedding, Lady Kitty Spencer opted for a high neckline Dolce & Gabbana lace wedding gown. Former Victoria’s Secret Angel Josephine Skriver wore an Alberta Ferretti slip dress decked in lace detailing with an embroidered lace trail. Even Kourtney Kardashian couldn’t resist the temptation of lace, adding a lace number in one of her many wedding dress ensembles.

Off-the-shoulder

Off-shoulder necklines are always a sultry number to sashay down the aisle. Everyone’s fave nostalgic celeb Britney Spears tied the knot in a custom look by Versace, designed by Donatella Versace. It was an off-the-shoulder gown with a short veil and sheer gloves.

Balloon Sleeves

Another regency-inspired trend is the balloon/puffy sleeves that many designers have been bringing back into their collection. Whie sweetheart and strapless numbers are still hot and heavy, many are embracing the ‘80s voluminous sleeves. Savannah Miller, Monique Lhuillier, Danielle Frankel, Vivienne Westwood, Marchesa, Haughton, Galia Lahav and Rivini are some designers who have embraced this bridal trend.
