High-low dresses were all the rage in the early 2010s, and Gomez was right on trend with this look. In a metallic Reem Acra dress with a bedazzled neckline and matching silver heels, Gomez’s look matched the coveted award of the night at the 2010 MTV Music Video Awards — the iconic chrome MTV Moonman trophy.

Arriving at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, Gomez’s neon-accented Atelier Versace dress lit up the blue carpet. Gomez’s 2018 Met Gala look was giving Disney princess all grown up, as she ascended the Met stairs in a custom Coach gown made with vintage cream silk gauze and hand-sewn lace. Behind her, a romantic ruffled train in tow. In this angelic ensemble, Gomez nailed the event’s “Heavenly Bodies” dress code.

If there’s one thing we can gather from the evolution of Selena’s style, it’s that she loves to break up her beloved neutral looks by going bright and bold with colour from time to time. At the 2019 American Music Awards, the star was a Versace vision of beauty in this lime green mini dress with a ruffled bow detail and a matching pair of pumps.

In 2020, Gomez walked the red carpet at the premiere of Dolittle in Los Angeles wearing a Givenchy gown from the French fashion house’s Fall 2019 Couture collection that featured a voluminous black skirt and a sheer baby pink turtleneck top.

True to her ability to take on any trend of the moment and pull off any colour, Gomez was spotted at a Saturday Night Live after-party back in December participating in the ‘Barbiecore’ trend with this head-to-toe pink PP Valentino ensemble accessorized with a classic pair of gold hoops.
