An Iconic Lipstick, Reinvented
Still lamenting the loss of Bite Beauty‘s cult status-worthy Amuse Bouche lipsticks? Well, it’s time to dry your tears and say hello to Power Move Hydrating Soft Matte Lipstick ($37). Fully vegan, the pillowy-soft yet mattifying texture is a close match to the lipsticks that put the brand on the map – with a few key upgrades. Now made with a blend of cocoa butter, tapioca pearls and fatty acid waxes, the velvety-smooth finish is less shiny and more lightweight than its predecessor, and creates a lovely soft-blur effect. Plus, you can still snag some of your favourite Amuse Bouche shades (Cayenne, Fig, anyone?), along with over a dozen vibrant new hues.
A Lip Mask That Smells Like Summer
Laneige is back with a summer-ready version of their beloved Lip Sleeping Mask ($26). Now available in a subtly sweet peach iced tea scent, the leave-on lip treatment is filled with hydrating and smoothing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, along with a protective antioxidant-loaded “berry mix complex” for notably softer lips after just one sleep.
A Beauty Line That Sparks Joy
Looking to downsize your makeup collection? Former IPSY and well.ca alum Anastasia Bezrukova wants you to do away with all those long-forgotten powder compacts and questionable lipsticks and replace them with the minimalist makeup collection dreams are made of. Bezrukova, a certified Marie Kondo consultant (one of less than 500 worldwide, FYI), created Minori (from $28), a collection of makeup essentials that make everyday beauty effortless. Choose from four universally flattering lip glosses, two multi-purpose blush pots, and two light-catching cream-to-powder highlighters.
A Recipe for Great Hair
Step up your styling game with the latest drops from luxury hair brand Oribe. First in line, the Oribe Run-Through Detangling Shampoo ($62), a nourishing hair cleanser that transforms even the most unruly hair into a glossy, silky-smooth mane. Follow up with the new Très Set Structure Spray ($58), a mist-to-mousse heat protectant-slash-setting spray that delivers exceptional volume and plays well with other styling products.
An Undeniably Chic Beauty Line
Stop whatever you’re doing and head over to The Detox Market, because their latest brand launch is as Parisian as Parisian can get. Think small-batch, high-performing makeup housed in artfully designed leather cases that are built to last a lifetime. Founded in 2017 (though it could very well pass for a heritage brand) La Bouche Rouge (from $44) is brand founder and beauty veteran Nicolas Gerlier’s answer to overconsumption in the beauty industry. Starting out as a line of refillable lipsticks, the brand now includes skin-enhancing bronzers, a lash-conditioning mascara, and Japanese-designed brushes (just to name a few). The result? Luxury beauty expertly combined with sustainable production methods to capture an unmistakable air of je ne sais quoi.
A Refreshing Body Care Line
Keep your body refreshed all-over with Nuxe’s latest: the Rêve de Thé Revitalizing Firming Cream ($54), a skin-toning cream that boosts elasticity, and Fresh Moisturizing Deodorant ($14), a roll-on deodorant that promises to keep funky underarms at bay for up to 24 hours. Both star skin-softening green tea extract, which keeps the skin cool and hydrated during hot, sticky days.
A Enzyme-Packed Cleansing Duo
Whether you’re loyal to the double cleanse or have a one-and-done type of routine, the latest cleansers from Amorepacific will melt away traces of dirt and grime with ease. The K-Beauty brand designed the lathering Treatment Enzyme Peel Cleansing Powder ($79) and Treatment Enzyme Cleansing Foam ($62) to thoroughly cleanse the skin while protecting and balancing the moisture barrier, making either an excellent option to soothe a stressed-out, irritated complexion.
A Dreamy Summer Scent
Warm-weather fragrances are all about fruits and florals– so why not combine the two? Aerin’s latest fragrance, Fleur de Peony Eau de Parfum ($135) blends feminine blooms like jasmine and pink peony (which happens to have been the signature flower at Aerin Lauder’s own wedding) with punchy hits of mandarin, lychee and pomelo to create a romantic and uplifting fragrance that’s sure to please.
A Skin-Quenching Body Lotion
If you’re a fan of naturally-scented skincare, consider Weleda Body Lotion ($18) an absolute must-try. Now made with 97 percent recycled plastic (rPET) packaging and fully recyclable through most municipal streams (as well as through the brand’s long-standing partnership with Terracycle), Weleda blends its signature plant-based ingredients with a variety of essential oils to create a collection of soothing body lotions: wild rose, citrus, sea buckthorn – and if you’re sensitive to fragrance, unscented – that soften the skin and awaken the senses.
A Very Glam Eyeshadow Palette
After a lengthy period indoors, we’re itching to get our party-ready makeup looks back on track. Who better to show us the way than Buxom ambassador Ash K Holm, who counts celebs like the Kardashians, Ariana Grande and Candice Swanepoel as clients? The LA-based MUA collaborated with Buxom to create the limited-edition Buxom Ash K Holm Eyeshadow Palette ($51), which features 12 primer-infused shades, ranging from shimmery jewel tones to matte neutrals. Fun fact: Holm used one of the brand’s plumping lip liners to create this show-stopping lip on Megan Fox. Thank us later.
A Must-Try Scalp Scrub
Christophe Robin’s hero hair product receives a limited edition makeover this season – and the new fragrance is too good to pass up. Christophe Robin Limited Edition Salt Scrub ($68) features an addictive sandalwood-pine scent reminiscent of the coastal shores of Brittany, France. Whether you have a sensitive or oily scalp, all it takes is a dollop to gently remove build-up and reveal super-shiny, cleaner-than-clean-feeling hair. Delightful.
A Conditioning Lip Stain
Like a mood ring for your lips, Canadian beauty brand Fancy Face’s latest Parisian-inspired Coquette Lipsticks (from $27) adjust colour based on the temperature of your skin to create a unique shade that’s truly flattering. Each loaded with lip-conditioning emollients like hyaluronic acid and euphorbia wax, this adorable trio of lippies is too cute to miss out on.
A Refillable Hair Mist Collection
Canadian hair care brand Design.ME is disrupting the hair care category with the launch of InfiniteMIST ($50), a lineup of refillable spray bottles that cater to every hair need while significantly cutting down on waste. The brand is now offering its Puff.ME volumizer, Gloss.ME shine & heat protectant, and Bounce.ME curl enhancer in a convenient continuous mist format. The idea is simple: when you run out of product, hold on to your bottle and pick up a recyclable carton refill ($24) to replenish your stash. Did we mention the products smell amazing, too? Because they do.
A Seriously Hydrating Serum
You may have heard of bakuchiol as a plant-based substitute for retinol, but what about cassia angustifolia in place of hyaluronic acid? The ingredient, extracted from senna seeds, holds 1000 times its weight in moisture (just like HA) and instantly creates a dewy look upon application. Find it in Wyld’s Moon Dew Serum ($65), which boasts a biodegradable and cruelty-free formula. What’s more, proceeds from every product sold are donated to ocean conservation efforts. Double win.
An All-Over Fragrance Mist
Have you ever walked past someone with divine-smelling hair and just knew it was the scent of Moroccanoil? Yup, us too. That’s why we were over the moon when we found out the hair care brand was finally releasing its signature scent in a fragrance format. Introducing Moroccanoil Brumes Du Maroc Fragrance Mist ($42), a hair and body mist scented with the amber-floral notes we’ve come to associate with soft and shiny strands. What’s interesting about this argan and vitamin-E infused mist is that it also includes a UV absorber, to help protect hair from damage accumulated by sun exposure. Spritz before your next outdoor gathering and get ready to turn some heads.
A Skincare Brand That Redefines Luxury
If you’re looking to up your skincare game in a major way, look no further than scientist-led brand Noble Panacea. Now available at Nordstrom Canada (who, BTW, is currently having a huge sale), the brand’s claim to fame is the unique Organic Super Molecular Vessel technology that led to brand founder Sir Fraser Stoddart’s 2016 Nobel Prize win for chemistry. With individually wrapped (and fully recyclable) 30-day doses housed in gorgeous hexagonal vessels, the time-released delivery method allows for incredible efficacy and maximum skincare benefits. Choose from the radiance-boosting Brilliant Collection and anti-aging The Absolute Collection, but beware: they’ll cost you a pretty penny. The luxury line runs anywhere from $150 to upwards of $400 – but hey, it’s all in the name of science, right?
A Firming Body Lotion
For tighter-looking skin that smells as good as it looks, try Bushbalm‘s Tush Firming Cream ($28), It’s made with coffee arabica seed and brazilian nut seed oil to soften and refresh dry areas. And although it’s technically made for your tush (see: product name), the irresistibly creamy formula can be used anywhere you want a little extra firming action.
A Detox For Your Hair
Ask any hair expert and they’ll agree: the key to healthy-looking hair after any dye job is proper maintenance. Enter L’Oréal Professionnel Metal Detox (from $28, available in-salon), an innovative shampoo and mask set that relies on 10 percent glucosamine to remove metal deposits that enter the hair fiber after a hair-lightening session. Expect less buildup, stronger hair and improved colour quality.
A Multi-Purpose Makeup Stick
Female-led, Canadian beauty brand Evio has launched a hydrating, blendable and generally fantastic set of Velvet Colour Sticks ($28). Available in four warm-toned shades, you can apply the creamy formula on the eyes, lips, cheek, or all-over for a monochromatic look – whatever your heart desires.
A Weightless Cream Shadow
Certified B-corp brand Beautycounter has launched its first-ever cream shadow, Lid Glow Cream Shadow ($24). Infused with coconut oil, shea, chamomile and cucumber and responsibly sourced mica, the lid-loving, crease-free formula is available in 10 brightening, satin and shimmery shades, including a stunning gold-flecked olive hue and an eye-catching copper tone.
