Including an all-in-one facial serum, a frizz-defying curl cream, and a hydrating loose powder.
Among the launches that caught our attention this month: serums with multiple benefits, eye drops that instantly brighten your gaze, a concentrate that is a godsend for sensitive skin, a truly gentle exfoliator, a brow-conditioning oil, a styling balm that excels at preventing frizz, an innovative loose powder, a plant-based mascara, and a spray that gives your hair serious volume.
Curl Balm, Kerasilk
If frizz is your worst enemy, you’ll want to get your hands on this new curl balm immediately. Its vegan formula, which features biomimetic silk and carnauba wax, provides your hair with just the ideal amount of conditioning to define your curls or waves, leaving frizz completely out of the equation. We were extremely impressed with how well it worked!
Price: $42
Super Serum, Olay
This five-in-one serum is your best ally if you like taking care of your skin but can’t afford to spend more than a few minutes on your daily routine. Thanks to a cocktail of niacinamide, vitamin C, collagen peptide, an AHA, and vitamin E, its formula promises to hydrate and smooth the skin, while enhancing its glow. We love its lightweight, fast-absorbing texture, sleek bottle, and slightly sweet scent. Simply layer your favourite moisturizer over top and you’re done!
Price: $57
Lumify Redness Reliever Eye Drops, Bausch + Lomb
These redness relief drops were a hit south of the border and are now (finally!) available in Canada. We can attest to the fact that they are fast and effective, working to constrict the arteries in your eyes thanks to a low dose of brimonidine in just a few minutes. A single drop in each eye is enough to make your eyes brighter and whiter. They’re perfect for special occasions! Although they’re sold at the drugstore, you may need to request them from the pharmacist to ensure they’re suitable for you before trying them out.
Price: $33
Advanced Night Repair Rescue Solution, Estée Lauder
This concentrate is the latest addition to Estée Lauder’s iconic Advanced Night Repair Line and was designed to soothe sensitive, vulnerable skin. Surprisingly liquid and cooling upon application, it helps calm your skin thanks to the balancing effects of its formula, which contains 15% bifidus ferment. It’s a must-have for anyone who is prone to redness and whose skin could use some strengthening and extra hydration.
Price: $110
Lash Blast Cleantopia Mascara, CoverGirl
Infused with aloe leaf extract, a ceramide, and maracuja oil and containing cellulose plant fibres, CoverGirl’s newest lash product is the brand’s first plant-based mascara. We’re head over heels for its nourishing formula and hourglass-shaped brush, which provides maximum volume, without clumps.
Price: $14
Calm + Restore Nourishing PHA Exfoliator, Aveeno
Joining Aveeno’s Calm + Restore lineup—a favourite among those of us with sensitive skin—this exfoliant combines polyhydroxy acids with oat oil in a formula that exfoliates while remaining very gentle. We appreciate its creamy texture, the hydration it imparts on our skin, and how soft it leaves our face.
Price: $13
Hydro Blot Loose Powder, CLE Cosmetics
A loose powder that helps control shine while providing hydration? Sign us up. This new, innovative powder is surprisingly cool upon application thanks to the encapsulated hyaluronic acid contained in its formula. Translucent and suitable for all skin types, it provides a semi-matte finish, while preserving your skin’s natural glow.
Price: $48
Whoa So Soft Brow Oil, Benefit Cosmetics
When applied before bed, this oil works overnight to nourish and condition your arches, leaving them incredibly soft by the time you wake up—not unlike a sleeping mask for your brows. Its secret: a mix of sunflower, argan, apricot, and castor oil which smells absolutely divine. We immediately added it to our evening routine and our eyebrows have never been shinier or more supple.
Price: $35
Supermoon Serum, Graydon Skincare
After the success of its Fullmoon serum, Graydon Skincare is back with Supermoon, which contains even more bio-retinol, as well as hyaluronic acid, peptides, plant-based collagen, and vitamin C. Its goal? To rehydrate your skin, while making it more supple and protecting it from pollutants. Its formula floods your skin with hydration upon application for a plumper, smoother look.
Price: $89
Volumizing Blow Dry Mist, Olaplex
Constantly on a quest for more volume, we’ve tried countless styling products that promise lifted roots without any oily or sticky feeling—and we’ve finally found one that delivers. Spritz this mist onto clean, nearly dry strands focusing on the roots, and finish blow-drying as usual. Not only will it help give your style more volume, but it’ll also add shine and softness, too. You can even use it on second-day hair to give your roots a refresh.
