Spring 2024’s Best Fragrances Smell Absolutely Gorgeous
Spring is in the air.
by : Melissa Fejtek- Mar 28th, 2024
NEST New York
Miss Dior Parfum
Wild strawberries are at the heart of this dreamy new take on Miss Dior, which blends the juicy red berry with stone fruits like apricot and peach and blossoming jasmine. But take our word for it—this scent is anything but cloying. A base of amber, amberwood, moss and cedar keep things earthy and grounded and add an air of mystery to this elegant scent.
Salt & Stone Black Rose & Oud Body Fragrance Mist
ICYMI: Salt & Stone has finally arrived at Sephora Canada, and we couldn’t be more delighted. Though the brand is best known for its sweat-wicking and aesthetically pleasing lineup of deodorants, we couldn’t help but fall in love with its lineup of body mists. There’s Bergamot & Hinoki and Santal & Vetiver, but we’re especially enamoured with Black Rose & Oud—a deep and sexy take on romantic rose. Buy the matching hand cream, body wash and deodorant to drench yourself head-to-toe in this indulgent fragrance.
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Florabloom Forte Eau de Parfum
The latest addition to Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria collection screams spring in the loveliest way possible. Powdery, sweet and tropical all at once, this scent combines notes of tuberose, mango and almond with delicate purple flowers like iris and violet followed by a touch of coconut and moss. If you’re looking for a scent that feels alive, this is it.
Armani My Way Eau de Parfum Nectar
I was in Madrid recently when I discovered this scent. I was in a car with one of my trip companions when I sniffed the air and thought to myself, what is that beautiful scent? I asked her what she was wearing, and she told me it was Armani My Way Nectar. I knew I needed to acquire a bottle asap. It was like being hit in the face with a cloud of juicy pear, and I loved it. But this isn’t a one-note scent, there’s depth and complexity, too. Bright notes of citrus, a hint of vanilla and lots of tiny white blooms work together to leave a lasting memory.
The Maker Lover
NY-based lifestyle fragrance brand and boutique hotel spot The Maker turns out some spectacular fragrances, and The Lover is my pick for the spring season. Founders Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg (formerly of skincare brand Fresh) developed a line of clean, unisex fragrances meant to transport the wearer to a world of fantasy, and that’s exactly what The Lover does. A potent combination of fig, vetiver, jasmine and oud create a scent that’s sensual and layered. When I met Glazman, I told him Fresh’s classic Cannabis Santal scent is still one of my favourites in my collection, and he told me The Lover is something like a grown-up spin on the scent. I couldn’t agree more.
Henry Rose Windows Down
Michelle Pfeiffer‘s clean fragrance line Henry Rose is another new-to-Sephora brand, and it’s generating tons of buzz. With a minimalist, unisex approach, these scents have creative and curious names that make you want to smell them—Jake’s House, Tar and Dark is Night. But our favourite of the bunch? Windows Down, a name that immediately evokes thoughts of cruising in the sunshine and feeling the wind in your hair. It smells like tart grapefruit and zesty bergamot layered with honeyed neroli, earl grey tea, jasmine, and musk. We’ll take it.
NEST New York Lychee Rose
If spring reminds you of blooming flowers, festive celebrations and biting into sweet, juicy fruit, you’ll instantly fall in love with NEST New York’s Lychee rose. The first time you smell it, you’ll immediately detect the addictive combination of fresh rose and lychee, but after a while the fragrance evolves into something even more exciting. Raspberry turns up the fruity factor big time while pink champagne adds an extra layer of fizziness to this sparkling, joyful scent.
Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Tiger Lily
Flowerbomb fans, brace yourself. Viktor & Rolf’s latest take on the ever-popular fragrance injects some sunshine into the scent, thanks to the addition of tiger lily, mango and creamy coconut milk. It’s beachy, fresh and the perfect summertime scent. Work this into your evening fragrance rotation and you won’t regret it.
Carolina Herrera Good Girl Blush Elixir
Carolina Herrera is back with yet another addition to the Good Girl fragrance lineup. Introducing Good Girl Blush Elixir, a more intense take on the Good Girl Blush scent. With rose, vanilla and patchouli and a ribbon of ylang-ylang, this warm floral scent works year-round but feels extra pretty in early spring months when the season is just starting to warm up.
