The Statement Midi Dress: Ba&Sh Parline Dress

spring midi dress

Ba&Sh Parline Dress, $338 (was $450)

SHOP

Spring is the season of new beginnings, the kind of beginnings filled with fresh blooms and abundant sunshine. It also marks the onset of countless social gatherings, including bridal showers, baby showers, weddings, bachelorette parties and other festive occasions. For me, that means it’s time to finally flip my winter wardrobe and pull out my swishiest spring and summer dresses. Only this year, there’s a bit of a catch. I’m currently 4.5 months pregnant, which means the better half of my dresses won’t be able to carry me through the season.

Enter this lovely pastel midi-dress from Parisian brand Ba&Sh, which is drape-y in the most flattering way possible. It has a roomy fit (which I love) but still manages to cling to the body in a very elegant way. The low back combined with the thin beaded straps add an incredible extra detail that takes the dress from an everyday slip to an instant compliment-getter.

The ’90s Throwback Shoe: Adidas Ozmillen Shoes

Adidas Ozmillen Shoes, $150

The dad shoe trend is still going strong, and it’s clear why. Few shoes are as practical as a solid dad shoe. But when something trends upwards, so does the price. That’s why I love the Adidas Ozmillen runners. They’re super comfortable, affordable and look great paired with leggings or a slouchy jean.

Inspired by the ’90s Ozweego runner (aka ultimate dad shoe), Ozmillens have a fun retro feel without looking dated. And while they have a clunkier appearance, these sneakers are surprisingly lightweight. Black and neon not your thing? No worries. They’re available in five other colourways, including cloud white and sand, beige and grey and white and tennis-court green.

The Swishy Spring Dress: Sezane Alessia Dress

Sezane Alessia Dress, $215

SHOP

For a dress that will take you to the farmers market to dinner and drinks on a patio, look no further than the Sezane Alessia dress. The tomato red and floral pattern combo is perfect for spring-summer 2024, but it’s also the kind of dress that will remain in your closet for years to come. It features a smocked back which means extra comfort, and the slit front and slight shoulder gathering add a touch sexiness to the look. I love this one styled just like the photo: with a pair of matching flat shoes and a simple basket tote. Jane Birkin who?

The Modern Pearl Ring: Pandora Pearls & Stones Ring

Pandora Pearls & Stones Ring, $225

SHOP

I’m a pearl girl. My engagement ring is a giant solitary pearl and my favourite necklace is a simple string of pearls my mother gifted me years ago. So when I came across this 14k gold-plated Pandora ring, I instantly lit up. It features five freshwater cultured pearls paired with a matching row of pavé gems, which makes mixing and matching with other pieces so easy. Plus, the ring has an open design, which feels very modern and almost seashell-like. Pair it with the duo pearl ring or the open-hoop earrings for a beautiful cohesive look.

The Dreamy Kaftan: H&M Pleated Kaftan Dress

H&M Kaftan

H&M Pleated Kaftan, $75

SHOP

Is there anything that says warm weather like a floaty kaftan? I think not. Which is why you absolutely must have one (or several) in your spring and summer wardrobe. I’m partial to this pistachio green style from H&M, which is just sheer enough to create an ethereal effect without making you feel like you need an underdress. This one is nearly sold out (what can I say, I have great taste) so set your notifications on for a restock in your size and check out the other excellent kaftans H&M has to offer in the meantime.
