Miss Piggy dishes on her style secrets and THAT wedding dress
“I try not to work. I just look good.” And that you do, Miss Piggy. She was recently in town to promote her new film
Muppets Most Wanted, and this star self-described star of ‘stage, television, radio and community theater’ was gracious enough to grant a press conference, where she regaled a room of adoring fans (pretending to be journalists) with tales of life as a ‘fashion plate, karate expert, and world’s foremost porcine superstar’.
Looking divine in understated leopard print wrap dress and her signature over-sized pearl choker, Her Swineness graciously fielded questions, dealing with intrusive questions about her love life, working with Tina Fey and Celine Dion (who needed her help to hit the high notes), and even her dream duet (singing ‘Rainbow Connection’ with Judy Garland and Kermit). I made sure I was front row at the event, and though I could barely see in the glow of her star-power, we had to ask Miss Piggy for the secret to her iconic style. She took a moment to consider, wrinkling her snout. The she tossed her perfectly coiffed platinum locks and answered: “My style centers around making a statement wherever I go. The wildest statement if at all possible! I want to be unique, that’s why I wear my jewelry on the outside of my gloves.” When asked by me to name her most favourite fashion moment, in a very stylish life, she didn’t have to think long: “It might be in this film,
Muppets Most Wanted,” she replied, batting her famously thick lashes. “Vivienne Westwood made moi a number of outfits for the movie, including a beautiful, gorgeous, extravagant wedding dress.” Muppets Most Wanted
is in theatres March 21.
