Forget shooting the current crop of boldfaced supes: This year’s Pirelli calendar looked to the archives, by releasing a previously unpublished calendar shot in 1986 by famed fashion photog Helmut Newton. I got the chance to attend the calendar’s roll out in Milan last week, which was, in a word, spectacular. The gala was hosted by Kevin Spacey, and famous attendees included Sophia Loren, Miuccia Prada and Isabella Rosselini.
