We think you’d love a place like Vancouver’s Salmon ‘n’ Bannock, one of the city’s only restaurants to put out First Nations cuisine, and Montreal’s Candide, which offers staff benefits and fair pay (still a rarity in the restaurant world), in addition to a sustainable, ever-changing, and remarkable menu. Yum.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

At the opposite end of the spectrum from our Capricorn friends, you love all things beautiful and impractical. Going out to eat, for you, is all about #bigmood: the aesthetics and the ambiance alike. In fact, you might even consider the type of music a restaurant plays before taking a look at its menu, and you’re certainly willing to travel for a dreamy setting, whether that’s a secluded winery or an idyllic inn. Two places you would certainly love: The Restaurant at Pearl Morissette, a small-batch vineyard in the Niagara Peninsula, where you’ll get to greet pigs and cows on your way in, and where you’ll be introduced to words like “microseasonal”, and the lakefront The Drake Devonshire in Prince Edward County, where waves crashing onto the shore are the only soundtrack you really need.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Understatement of the year: you’ve got an intense personality. What you need in return are bold, fiery flavours. Oh, and you could totally just order for the whole table, because you’ve got no time to waste. For something fresh, exciting, and spicy, head to Toronto’s Birria Balam, where stewed beef tacos are served alongside an invigorating dip of braising liquid made with three kinds of chilies and Mexican cinnamon. There’s an option to add a peanut and sesame salsa to your consommé for an extra kick, but hey, gentle reminder: you don’t have to force this level of heat onto your entire dinner party. In Montreal, we could see you enjoying the spirited cuisine and lively vibe of a place like Denise.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Some say you’re the foodie of the zodiac. All we know is that you appreciate decadent, comforting meals more than just about anyone. Only one hiccup: you’re also the zodiac’s couch potato (hey, we don’t make the rules here). Take-out is often your go-to solution, but every once in a while, you’re willing to come out of your den for some soul-satisfying food in a restaurant that almost feels like home. In Montreal, that could take you from Le Coq de l’Est’s Indian-spiced poutine to Joon’s sought-after Persian, Georgian, and Armenian cuisine, all in the space of one day. In Toronto, you might go from a “slightly trashy” slice of Superpoint pizza for lunch to Guu Izakaya’s chaotic good times for dinner.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Your perfect restaurant meal should feel like you’re being fed by family. That doesn’t mean you have to gather up everyone’s dirty plates for the waiter, but we know you will anyway.
