LFW Spring 2014 street style: 5 bags from Day 1

The first day of London Fashion Week dawned grey and misty, but the rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the assembled editors, photographers and scenesters who gathered at Somerset House—LFW’s official HQ—to loiter, snap pics, oh, and attend a few fashion shows. (My favourite of the day was Jasper Conran—more on that later today.)
London street style is always more eccentric and outrageous than
its fashion capital counterparts, and the array of bags showcased in this post—from clutches to backpacks—illustrate the city’s sartorial creativity.

The backpack—seen everywhere this fall—with a cool leopard twist.
A pretty pastel purse adds ladylike chic to an otherwise edgy ensemble.
I’m in love with this clutch. The logo is a little on the unmissable side, but—judging from the trends at New York Fashion Week—designer name dropping is back in.
Burberry’s zebra print tote offers instant graphic appeal.
