Moschino, the famed Milan fashion label known for its irreverence, has tapped Jeremy Scott to be its new creative director. Scott replaces Rossella Jardini, who has helmed the label since 1994, when founder Franco Moschino passed away. Scott’s first collection will be shown in February in Milan during the Fall 2014 shows, and he will continue to show his eponymous line in New York. To us, it feels like a perfect match: Scott is a New York wild child, beloved by larger than life stars including Rihanna and
Katy Perry, while Moschino is known for its tongue-in-chic approach to fashion (Spring 2014 runway highlights include bunny ears, a full skirt with a cow print and a model wearing only an oversized Moschino bag). Scott’s move to Moschino marks the second big move in Milan fashion—last week,
Jil Sander announced that she was once again leaving her namesake brand.
