When we leave her, Lorelai is maybe, probably (fingers crossed) getting back together with Luke before having a final meal with Rory at the diner.

Emily is last seen at Rory’s goodbye party in Stars Hollow, telling the younger Gilmore Girl she’s honoured to be her grandmother. She also makes plans to possibly invest in Lorelai’s inn.

At Rory’s party, Richard tells Lorelai she is a great parent, saying, “It takes a remarkable person to have inspired all this.” (**Grabs Kleenex**) While Edward Herrmann, who played Richard, passed away in 2014, the Gilmore patriarch will no doubt be remembered fondly in the upcoming episodes.

Still the co-owner of the Dragonfly Inn with Lorelai, Sookie gets unexpectedly pregnant with her third child in the final season. She’s last seen telling her BFF that it was actually Luke who put together Rory’s party.

Separated from his wife, Dean and Rory give their relationship another shot. After their breakup, Dean is last seen comparing him and Rory to Luke and Lorelai, warning Luke that they won’t last.
