Megan Thee Stallion can officially count herself in the canon of artists with viral TikTok songs. “Savage,” off of her most recent project Suga, is the soundtrack of the latest dance craze on the app. The dance challenge was originally created by Keara Wilson, whose video has now passed 4.1 million views and even inspired Megan to do her own rendition.
Now, the track is currently at 17 on the Genius Top Songs chart and is quickly gaining momentum – it has 750,000 global streams on Spotify as of March 19. Celebs are catching on quick: Normani, Keke Palmer and Hailey and Justin Bieber have all posted their own versions of the “Savage” dance.
It’s the truest sign that the inevitable has happened: with nothing else to do at home, everyone 25 and up is officially coming for TikTok. Sorry, Gen Z.
