Sabrina Maddeaux reports on
The F Word press conference, reviews Jesse Eisenberg’s new film
The Double, and goes behind the velvet rope at night four’s most star-studded parties.
Parties: A-listers showed up to support a good cause at the annual amfAR Inspiration Gala. Hilary Swank, Alan Cumming, Adrien Brody, and Paul Haggis mingled with and posed for photos with Toronto’s socialite class at The Carlu. The evening’s live auction raked in the green stuff, with a “
Marc Jacobs experience” (trips to Jacobs’ next runway show in NYC, round trip airfare, and a stay in the Plaza Hotel) went for $12,000, while a evening out with Alan Cumming in New York went for a cool $22,000. The highlight of the night was a performance by Gossip, which ended with Alan Cumming getting on stage to perform Dolly Parton’s “Think About Love” with lead singer Beth Ditto.
