NYFW Fall 2014: Meet editor Katherine Flemming
Our NYFW correspondent: beauty and health editor Katherine Flemming. Photo by Ryan Brook.
Our beauty and health editor Katherine Flemming knows a rocking statement lip when she sees one. So we can’t wait to see what beauty trends she’ll be calling from the buzzy backstage scene at New York Fashion Week. Stayed tuned right here on our blog, plus on
Instagram, for all the hottest beauty looks from the Fall 2014 runway shows! We played 10 questions with Katherine—what’s her post-show indulgence? Beauty must-have? Celebs she’s hoping to spot front row? Read on for her complete Fashion Week questionnaire.
Which shows are you most excited to see: Prabal Gurung.
What is your number one beauty must-have: A sleeping mask to ensure I score a half decent sleep after a day of insanity.
Hair and/or makeup artist(s) you’re most excited to see: I love watching Gucci Westman and Orlando Pita work side-by-side in Oscar de La Renta’s office. They’re old friends.
Your #1 Fashion Week survival tip: Downing green juices wherever possible.
Your three favourite places in New York: Central Park, Chelsea Market and Osteria Morini.
Song you hope to hear on the runway: Anything from Lorde.
Celeb you hope to see: Kanye at Alexander Wang!
Favourite model: This is the hardest question to answer. I love Vanessa Axente, Liu Wen, Sasha Luss, Ava Smith, Charlotte Hoyer…the list goes on. Our beauty director Vanessa Craft calls me the ‘modelizer’ for obvious reasons.
Best way to relax, after the shows: Shame-eat a black and white cookie in my hotel room.
Your Fashion Week uniform: Slouchy Vince sweaters or striped Petit Bateau t-shirts with black Rag & Bone skinnies and Chelsea boots from Madewell that I’ve finally broken in (for the exclusive and crucial purpose of running around during NYFW). I have an old dove grey coat from Comptoir des Cotonniers that I’ll top it all off with. My black Want shopper is perfect for storing press releases, a notebook, pen and recorder.
