Earlier this month in Paris, Dior unveiled its Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2023/2024 collection. We had the chance to speak with Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Make-up, a few hours before the show to discover everything about the beauty looks he created for the occasion—the flawless complexions, glossy lips and lids, and a subtle touch of glimmer along the lash line.

What style of makeup influenced the models’ looks for the collection?

A pure luminous nude style—one could compare it with a ‘90s minimalist nude makeup look.

What was your creative process? Do you normally sit down with Maria Grazia [Dior creative director] to create the makeup vision together?

The conversation we had was about a simple nude look, nothing conceptual and not a look that took the attention away from the fashion [and] inspired by the purity of what we imagine mythological goddesses look like. So we went for luminous skin, a nicely groomed eyebrow, and a touch of gold on the eyelids. Divine, but at the same time, down to earth.

Which Dior Beauty products did you use to create these looks?

The skin was a key player, so the whole routine was about moisturizing and glow. We prepared the skin with the Dior Prestige routine, followed with the Dior Forever Glow Veil as a primer and the Dior Forever Skin Glow foundation to complete the skin look. The Diorshow Brow Styler and the Diorshow Onset Brow guarantee a perfectly groomed eyebrow and the touch of gold I got from the Diorshow 5 Couleurs Palette in Grand Bal. On the lips I simply used the Rouge Dior Satin Balm in 000 Diornatural.
