With the launch of her new haircare line, Cécred, Beyoncé invites us all to transform our bathrooms into sacred spaces as we slip into a feel-good state of healthy hair bliss.

Honouring global hair traditions and rituals practiced by cultures dotted all over the globe, Cécred is designed to bathe hair of all types and textures in the nutrients it needs—offering up a sensorial experience in the process.

From the creative mind of Mrs. Knowles-Carter to our shower comes Cécred’s Foundation Collection, an eight-piece range of hair products infused with conditioning butters, oils, honey, and fermented rice water designed to help cleanse, condition, and repair weakened hair.

“As a Black founder, it was important to me to concentrate on where I saw the greatest need for healthy haircare and to place scientific innovation and product performance above all else. We started by prioritizing the needs of textured hair like mine, along with other types and textures that needed more moisture and strength,” she says in a press release.

“My entire life and career, I’ve worn my hair in so many different ways: natural, flat-ironed, braids, coloured, weaves, wigs. I want everyone to have the freedom to express their hair in ways that make them feel good, so I began by creating the essentials for hair and scalp health. My vision is to be an inclusive force of excellence in the haircare industry while celebrating hair rituals across global cultures and helping dispel hair myths and misconceptions on all sides.”

Though the Texas Hold ‘Em singer is no stranger to navigating frequent hair colouring, high-tension styles, sweat, and product build-up as an on-stage performer, Bey’s commitment to creating healthy haircare runs deeper than her decades-long career.

As the daughter of a salon owner, Beyoncé grew up sweeping hair in her mother’s hair parlour, where she witnessed the power of tech-driven formulas, and their ability to heal and promote healthy hair alongside the use of oils and butters. Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, now brings 40 years of expertise to Cécred as the brand’s vice chairwoman.

“In my own experience serving clients, I loved witnessing the joy they felt watching their hair grow healthier, shinier, and more vibrant,” says Knowles. “I have personally witnessed how these products have stopped breakage in its tracks. I’ve seen the transformations from using these products on all different hair types and textures and the results have been amazing.”

And in an effort to support entrepreneurship and honour the knowledge and influence of professional stylists on hair health, Cécred has collaborated with Knowles-Carter’s philanthropic foundation BeyGOOD to create the BeyGOOD x Cécred Fund—an annual $500,000 USD fund that will support cosmetology school scholarships and salon business grants.
