Launchmetrics Spotlight
If you ask a hopeless romantic, it’s never too early to start wedding planning or fantasizing about the dress of your dreams. Though, the recent conclusion of New York’s Spring 2025 Bridal Week could be your cue to begin sourcing wedding dress inspiration—especially if you’re a 2025 bride.
The biggest bridal designers of the season have spoken, and the top trends of the season involve vintage silhouettes like drop waists and bubble hemlines reimagined for the modern bride, while draped detailing and ornamental floral appliqués added an ultra-feminine flair elsewhere. In the accessories department, bridal bows adorned everything from veils to gloves, and neck scarves trailed gowns and wedding suits for an unconventional alternative.
Below, observe six wedding dress trends for 2025 brides to say ‘I do’ to, featuring designs from beloved labels like Danielle Frankel, Vera Wang, Zuhair Murad and more.
Drop Waist Drama
Threaded throughout the Spring 2025 bridal collections, the drop waist is, without a shadow of a doubt, set to become the most sought-after silhouette of the season. Elongating the body by giving the illusion of a longer torso, this roaring ’20s-esque style will capture the hearts of any brides-to-be with vintage taste. During bridal week, labels like Lein and Ines Di Santo presented strapless drop waist dresses for the classic bride, while Reem Acra and Cinq played with tulle fabrics and Basque waistlines respectively to design dropped waistlines that bridged the gap between “something old” and “something new.”
Here Come the Bows
Dear 2025 brides, bows aren’t going anywhere. If you’re looking to work this coquette-ish accessory into your big day, let this season’s bridal runways and lookbooks be your guide. For Honor’s Collection VIII, the New York City-based label wove dainty little bows into their models’ dresses, veils and hair. Bows were also abundantly present in Jaclyn Whyte and Markarian’s collections—in addition to Tanner Fletcher’s, who accessorized their bridal robes and suits with blue, black, and ivory bow details. It’s the timely trend that gives new meaning to “tying the knot.”
Bubble Brides
Countering traditional sheath, column and fit and flare wedding dresses, the buzziest Spring 2025 bridal shows offered up gowns with ’80s-inspired bubble hemlines for the bride who wants to make a sartorial statement. Designer Danielle Frankel’s Collection IX included a strapless silk dress with a bubble hem skirt of voluminous proportions, alongside Monique Lhuillier and Odylyne The Ceremony who also featured poufed hemlines of all lengths in their designs. A maxi for the main event and mini for the after-party, perhaps?
Happily Ever Appliqués
Florals will forever remain a crucial part of every wedding planner’s design process, and they’re about to become more involved than ever in your own wedding dress shopping outings, too. From veils and gloves to gowns, Vera Wang, Zuhair Murad, Galia Lahav and Mira Zwillinger all adorned their garments with floral appliques that’ll transform any bride into a walking work of art. By matching the floral pattern to your bridal bouquet, this delicate detailing will elevate even the most drab of dresses—and add a sweet personal touch.
Draped Beauties
According to designers like Lihi Hod, Idan Cohen, Justin Alexander and Savannah Miller, draped dresses are having a major bridal moment. Utilizing excellent tailoring techniques, these labels crafted their wedding gowns with the utmost precision for a form-flattering fit and a feminine feel. Where Cohen and Alexander opted for draped sleeves that fall elegantly over the arms, Hod and Miller applied this romantic technique to their bodices.
Nuptial Neck Scarves
For a fashion-forward approach to wedding wear, Nordeen, Jenny Yoo and Katherine Tash found common ground in the addition of the neck scarf to their Spring 2025 collections. A more modern interpretation of the silk sash, this subtle touch is bound to be amongst the most coveted bridal accessories of next year. And it’s not exclusive to gowns! Alejandra Alonso Rojas’ debut bridal collection proved pairing this add-on with a chic wedding suit is a look to die for.
