Editor’s pick: Don’t miss the Well Dressed for Spring Fashion Show Feb 24 in Toronto.
In three weeks our Well Dressed for Spring model winner, Angie Morris, will be making her runway debut at the
Well Dressed for Spring fashion show in Toronto. Before the holidays, we spent the day with Angie and her mother at
The Four Seasons hotel. Angie told us that getting the supermodel treatment for a day was the perfect way to end her cancer journey. “I entered the contest because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of women affected by cancer," she explained. "I want women to get their check-ups and take care of their bodies." Angie said it was a life-changing moment when she was diagnosed with Stage 2 cervical cancer on July 25, 2012. “My head was filled with a million thoughts and concerns for others, and at the same time absolute clarity of my own personal mission, ‘I need to beat this disease and survive.’" Angie’s inspiring story—and her gorgeous photo—will appear in our March issue. And she’ll be making her runway debut on February 24 at the annual
Well Dressed For Spring fashion show. The event, which is held at Holt Renfrew on Bloor Street, is a fundraiser for the Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation. Wellspring provides support, coping skills and education at no charge and without need of medical referral to individuals, family members and caregivers living with cancer. Tickets are $200 and you can purchase them online at
www.wellspring.ca/welldressedforspring or phone: (416) 961-1928 ext 247. Tickets include a $100 Holt Renfrew Gift Card, a cocktail reception and a spring 2014-themed fashion show hosted by Holt’s VP Fashion Editor,
Lisa Tant. We’re one of the sponsors that night, so the ELLE Canada team will be there to show their support for Angie and the other models. “Walking a catwalk in fashionable clothing is just another way I can shine and show those around me that cancer is a word," said Angie. "It’s not the end, and we must all rally together to stop cancer forever!” Hope we see you there!
