To get Bella Hadid’s hyper-bronzed look at this year’s Met Gala, makeup artist Mary Phillips didn’t use just one product—she used three.
“I applied a darker colour of foundation in all the areas where I wanted the skin to look a little warmer—the forehead, the cheeks, the nose and the chin,” she explains. She then layered on Diorskin Nude Air Tan bronzer before applying a bronzy blush on the apples of the cheeks and back toward the temples.
“Don’t just throw it on all over your face or you’ll wind up looking unnatural,” she warns. “Be strategic about placement. Think about where you can feel the sun hit your face when you close your eyes.”
