Spring into the Sixties

By Karen Kwan Get ready to travel back to the sixties this spring–at least when it comes to your hair and makeup. For the
House of Groves show, manes were backcombed into loose bouffants and makeup was soft and subtle with the exception of long, lush lashes.
Makeup As with most of the looks he’s worked on this week, Eddie Malter started with L’Oréal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base as a primer, Touche Magique Concealer and a light dusting of powder. Then, with L’Oréal Wear Infinité Star Secret Eye Shadow Quad in Andie’s Neutrals 821 ("it’s what I always use on brows," says Eddie) he filled in brows for a natural, clean look. On the eyes, Eddie swept on a sheer veil of shades 2 and 4 of the new L’Oréal Wear Infinité Colour Smokes in Blackened Smokes, and then he defined the eyes further by lining them in Le Kohl Duo Shadow + Liner in Black/Vanilla.

As for cheeks and lips, both were done in pretty, versatile pinks suitable for most skin tones–L’Oréal True Match Blush in C1-2 and Infallible Lip Gloss in Blush 115.
Keep your skin young and fresh with these tips.
Get the 1960s vixen look for hair after the jump!

Hair The look is 1960s vixen, says Eric Del Monaco, and you’ll need a set of large velcro rollers to get the look. Start with some L’Oréal StudioLine Silk and Gloss Volume Mousse and rub some into the crown to add some body and run any remaining product through to the ends. With your hair moist from the mousse, roll your hair into the velcro rollers from front to back. Then backstage Eric used a hood dryer for 10 minutes so that heat could activate the volumizing mouse–get similar results at home by directly warming each roller with your blowdryer.Pull out the rollers and brush hair back. Backcomb at the crown to create a bouffant shape, using Elnet hairspray as you tease, and then complete the look with a final brushing back of your smooth out the final style.
