There’s something detectably magical about Toronto during fashion week – the clothes, the camera flashes illuminating the runways, and the impeccably dressed attendees milling around the tent at David Pecaut Square. But before the World MasterCard Fashion Week events officially kick off on Monday October 21, we’re getting up close with some of the Canadian designers showcasing their Spring 2014 collections this year. For fine tailoring and dashingly polished dudes, we turned to Toronto-based designer
Christopher Bates, who was selected in the Mercedes-Benz Start Up Program last year (as the only menswear designer, we might add). We asked Bates for a rundown of his pre-show rituals, a preview of the collection, and how he plans to celebrate post-runway.
