Got any plans this Tuesday night? Frozen pizza and Tivo’d Game of Thrones don’t count—instead, head out to Toronto’s west end to indulge in some sweet summer retail therapy with a twist! Hosted by
Found Riches and
Plaid Magazine , the West End Riches shopping event has extended the hours of the west end’s chicest boutiques until the strike of midnight, and offers shoppers the opportunity to score some sweet discounts using the Found Riches App as well. ELLE Canada’s
Adrienne Matei caught up with
Plaid Magazine’s
Odessa Parker to get the scoop on the event:
So, tell us why you decided to host this event. I was approached by Ryan Dochuk, who is one of the creators of the Found Riches app, to help them host "West End Riches". He was looking for a cool way to launch the app in Toronto, and had heard about Plaid’s successful "Vintage’s Night Out" event that we held in March during Fashion Week. I thought the Found Riches app sounded like a really great way to inspire people to support local retailers—something Plaid is very committed to—so we thought putting together another shopping night would be really fun!
Where are you most looking forward to going tonight? I’m looking forward to getting into some shops that I haven’t been to in a while to see what’s new, and also seeing what’s getting shoppers excited. I always love people who are excited about vintage, since vintage clothing is one of my passions.
What is the best fashion piece you’ve bought in Toronto lately? I love the neon tie-dye Scout & Catalogue clutch that I bought at Bicyclette Boutique. It’s over-sized so it fits a lot for daytime, but it’s very chic and good for evenings out, too. Plus, I’m a fiend for neon!
