Talk about happily ever after: following months of empty calendars and idle weekends, wedding season (almost as we once knew it), has arrived. And there’s nothing like a bit of matrimonial revelry to inspire an on-point outfit. From a low-key backyard wedding to an all-out vineyard venue, we propose five wedding-worthy looks for every kind of invite you have lined up.
The Backyard Wedding
A scaled-back guest list, family-style dinner, vows under a wisteria-covered arch—is there anything more lovely and quaint than a backyard wedding? Here’s how to dress accordingly: a garden-inspired palette (think: pale purples, blue and mint green) plus picnicky accessories (a straw headband and gingham bag do the trick) look understated and beautiful.
The Zoom Wedding
If we’ve learned anything from all the virtual meetings over the last year, it’s that on-screen engagements require a style statement up top. Start with a punchy print (we’re into these Warhol-like blooms), then adorn a sleek, low pony with a bit of gilded goodness. The extras—pastel sandals, a stack of chunky rings—probably won’t make it in the picture, but that’s the fun in dressing up, isn’t it?
The Vineyard Wedding
The most formal of the bunch– such an elegant venue calls for undeniable glam. Forget the conventional evening dress: take an unexpected approach with a unique two-piece, like this Pretty Woman-esque polka-dotted set. Sculptural accessories—we’re obsessed with these oyster-shaped studs—help bring an air of sophistication from head to toe.
The Beach Wedding
Sunsets, white sand and a reception under the stars—it’s got to be the fastest RSVP you’ve ever responded to. Mirror the laid-back feel with an equally breezy get-up: a street style-inspired bra-plus-lace-top combo, plus a slinky silk skirt and some beachy extras (peep the anklet!) You’ll keep cool and look good doing it.
The Desert Wedding
When attending the ceremony requires journeying to a whole new climate, pack for both style and comfort. Beat that dry desert heat with an airy frock that leans on the mini side of the dress scale and finish it with a lineup of accoutrements inspired by the sandy landscape. (The monochromatic palette will make for good photos, so, you’re welcome.)
