If this collection is any indication, the ’80s are coming back in a big way. Farfetch has teamed up with Byronesque,  an e-commerce site and app dedicated to vintage fashion from the late ’70s to early ’00s, for a re-issue of French designer Claude Montana’s most influential looks on the 40th anniversary of the brand. The 11-piece womenswear capsule captures the best of the designer’s signature rockstar-worthy style.

Colourful leather and the era’s beloved exaggerated silhouettes take the spotlight in this collection, which was created using archival pieces for reference and in some cases, the same manufacturers who had worked with the designer decades earlier. A leather dress with an embroidered eagle — a replica of one of the designer’s best-known styles — is made with one of only two remaining machines of its kind.

The designer rose to prominence soon after starting his label in 1979. Counting Thierry Mugler among his contemporaries, Montana became known for his bold science fiction-inspired designs which diverged from the modest womenswear styles popular at the time. He went on to head haute couture at Lavin for two years, before taking a step back from the fashion world in the late ’90s after selling his company. A documentary on Montana’s legacy was produced alongside the collection, and features interviews with designers like Marc Jacobs, Olivier Theyskens and Gareth Pugh on how he’s impacted their work.

The collection launches globally today. Check out images from the campaign below.
