winter-to-spring-transition-canv.jpgThe thing about investment dressing is that it never goes out of style—it’s all about pairing your basics with the latest on-trend pieces to keep your look fresh. So hang on to your biker jacket and LBDs, friends—Eve Miron, women’s merchandise manager and fashion director at RW & Co, shares her expert tips on how to seamlessly transition your classic winter wardrobe essentials into spring.

Winter transition piece: Leggings

“Spring is different here in Canada—it’s still cold,” Miron points out. So there’s no sense in stowing away your pastel and brightly coloured dresses for bare-legged days ahead. Try adding leggings in a lightweight fabric and flesh-tone shade with your favourite LWD.

Winter transition piece: Denim

Because your favourite pair of blue jeans—the ones that suit your body type perfectly—will never go out of style, you can shake up your look this spring by pairing with a graphic print blouse and blazer in a solid hue—try cherry red or cobalt blue. “It’s the perfect way to update your work wardrobe,” says Miron.

Winter transition piece: Biker jacket
This can go so many ways: “With a white tee and a great pair of statement earrings, to make it pop,” Miron suggests. Or pair with a printed blouse—a must-have item for spring—to add some biker chic edge to your office attire.

Winter transition piece: Little black dress

Blame it on Audrey, but there’s a reason that—as one of thee top classic wardrobe essentials— the LBD has a hard-earned place in our closet. To freshen it up for this season, “Pair with a biker jacket or blazer in a floral print or bouclé pattern,” says Miron.

Winter transition piece: Blazer

Boxy or flowy, tuxedo style or boyfriend—literally any style of blazer goes, either together with its other half as a suit or on its own paired with cropped denim or a skirt. Need more proof? “This is the investment piece to wear with the rest of these items,” says Miron. Sold.
