As the fashion industry continues to experience its most sustained shake-up yet, news out of New York is that Peter Copping has left Oscar de la Renta as Creative Director. The designer had been with the house just short of two years, joining in 2014 before Oscar de la Renta’s death and showing his first collection for the label in February 2015. In a statement, Copping said: “After almost two years at Oscar de la Renta, personal circumstances require me to return to Europe. I have loved my time in New York where I hope to return at some point in the future.” Copping designed for Nina Ricci for five years before joining Oscar de la Renta, and worked for Louis Vuitton during Marc Jacobs’ tenure for over a decade.
