Michael Kors has released a special edition of the Love T-shirt in support of the World Food Programme (WFP) and its COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts. The T-shirt, which features the word “Love” in light blue, is a continuation of the brand’s Watch Hunger Stop campaign. Since its launch in 2013, the campaign has helped the WFP provide more than 19 million meals to children around the world.

Due to the pandemic, the WFP, which is the food assistance arm of the United Nations, says that the impact on the global economy and food supplies could double the number of severely hungry people this year to 270 million. The closure of schools has heightened food insecurity for many children who depend on school meals, and the WFP is working on alternative measures like providing take-home rations, delivering food directly to students’ homes and sending cash or food vouchers.

“This pandemic has reminded us that what really matters is health and love and community,” said Michael Kors in a press release. “WFP has always worked to help those most in need, using their unparalleled expertise to alleviate suffering and spread hope.”

For each T-shirt purchased from a Michael Kors store or website, the brand will donate 100 percent of the profits,  approximately 100 meals or $48, to WFP. The T-shirt will be available in mid-July.
