1. Ditch the bulky wooden hangers.

Opt for thin felt ones to avoid damaging silk blouses and keep garments from slipping. Then arrange your hangables by colour for a Pinterest-worthy look.

2. Invest in a steamer.
It’s less bulky than an ironing board, and you can quickly turn it on in the morning. Because if you have to ask if that shirt is too wrinkled….

3. Put it on display.

Shelve your handbags and install a towel hook to hang your scarves, boutique-style. Stack bracelets around beautiful glass jars so they’re at eye level when you’re contemplating how to glam up an outfit.

4. Create an ambience.
Instead of using potpourri—which can be overwhelming at first and fades quickly—keep your walk-in closet stocked with fresh-cut flowers or tuck soft-scented dryer sheets in with your delicates.

5. Make a mood board.

Ask a stylist or Cher Horowitz: Polaroids know best. Collect snaps of your favourite outfits, magazine tears and pictures of street-style stars and arrange them on a bulletin board as daily inspo.
