While we’re excited for this fall’s mix of
cool biker jackets and classic, menswear-inspired tailoring, we’re not quite ready to pack up some of our favourite summer looks just yet. So we rounded up the top summer fashion pieces that we couldn’t get enough of this season and paired them with the
hottest looks for Fall 2013 for a smooth and
stylish transition into the cooler days ahead.

Summer fashion trend: The crop top

Worn over cute summer dresses or with coloured denim this summer,
the crop top—while playful and carefree—needs a sophisticated overhaul to fit in with the classic, ladylike feel of the fall season.

Fall 2013 transition dressing: Pair with high-waisted trousers and pointy-toe kitten heels for a refined 1940s-vintage vibe. Or for an edgier twist, add a
black leather moto jacket overtop and dark, slim denim tucked into ankle boots—the off-duty model fall uniform.

Summer fashion trend: Floral dress

The epitome of a universal hot-weather look, the

One of our favourite fabrics, denim was worn in everything from vests to jackets and cutoffs this summer for rock star-worthy music festival looks and casual weekend dressing.
Fall 2013 transition dressing: For a badass edge, wear with ’90s-inspired stitched-on emblems and a black leather jacket, as seen on 3.1 Philip Lim’s runway. Or a sheer navy blouse and black and gold-studded scarf for Isabel Marant’s gothic-cool take.

Striped, floral printed, colour-blocked—the maxi in every shade and print carried us through the summer months with a cool elegance. Not quite ready to retire the maxi until next spring? Rest assured—there’s still a time and place for it in your fall wardrobe.
