With the crisp, cool air of autumn allowing for layers upon layers of chic clothing to be worn, leather boots to be dusted off, and cashmere sweaters to be pulled to the front of our closets, it should come as no surprise that fall is often said to be a fashion connoisseur’s favourite season for dressing up.

To forecast this year’s top fall fashion trends, we tapped three Canadian content creators with a keen eye for style. Ahead, Zhanna Redneva, Zahra Hassan and Bridget Brown chat autumnal colour palettes, essential prints, and the pieces you’re sure to spot them wearing online this season.

As the creator of a viral catwalk series on TikTok and countless trendy get-dressed-with-me posts on Instagram, Zhanna Redneva is one to watch for major model-off-duty style inspiration. Being that she is, in fact, an actual model, she’s the real deal. Heading into the -ber months, Redneva plans to play with rich colours and fun fabrics.

“Fall fashion is especially exciting to me because it’s my birthday season. My style is generally very colourful—and the colder months aren’t a reason to start shying away from that! To me, fall is a very rich season, so I’m going to opt for shades like mustard yellow, plum, and hues of red and forest green,” says the influencer. “I’m excited to pair these shades with textures like suede and fringe. Suede has been ever-growing this year, but I’m most excited to style it for the fall. It is such a warm and cozy texture, that when mixed with colourful knits, it’s the perfect recipe for fall fashion. Fall should be fun—and I intend to do just that with layering textures with colour.”

Though she’s affectionately known offline as Ms. Hassan to her adoring students, Zahra Hassan is known online as “Miss Wondrous Soul” to over 100,000 followers on TikTok, where her daily outfit posts, often filmed in her own classroom, have garnered millions of views. Continuing to push the envelope and represent the new generation of educators with her ultra-cool fashion sense, Hassan is elevating her 2024 autumnal wardrobe with denim, animal print, and versatile neutrals.

“Denim on denim is a forever favourite, but this season, I’m all about rocking a fresh, cropped denim jacket set. And let’s talk animal prints! I’ve got my eyes on oversized cheetah print cargos to add a fierce flair to my look. Plus, who doesn’t love a good earth-tone layering moment? This fall, I’m into playing with those versatile hues and mixing things up in style.”

When she’s not documenting her latest thrift store finds or talking followers through her outfit details via her socials, you’ll find Bridget Brown collecting pre-loved pieces and curating small-batch collections for her online vintage shop, Augusta. For fall, this vintage aficionado is eyeing one colour trend in particular that can be styled from head to toe in all of your favourite seasonal textiles—and shopped anywhere.

“A trend I am really excited for this fall is ‘mellow yellow.’ Butter yellow had a big moment this past summer and is going to be transitioning into more of a tan tone for the fall. I think we will be seeing this a lot in leather and suede forms—from full looks to bags and accessories,” shares Brown.
