WELL SUITED

Italian label BLAZÉ MILANO specializes in one thing: striking menswear-inspired blazers with a nod to heritage. This month, the brand partnered with luxury e-tailer MATCHESFASHION.COM on a 10-piece capsule collection. The jackets are cut from classic English textiles – herringbone tweeds, tartans and Prince of Wales checks – but the vibe is anything but stuffy. Wear them with a cashmere turtleneck and jeans or a pair of reinvented corduroy flares. “The blazer’s shape changes slightly every decade, but the concept is always the same: suitable for any occasion and never out of fashion,” says the label’s co-founder Delfina Pinardi.

DRESSED THE PART

If there’s one person who understands the transformative power of a dress, it’s Alessandra Rich. The designer’s retro-inspired midis combine thigh-high slits with delicate lace collars. “There’s always that twist of being proper and improper,” says the Italian-born, London-based Rich. “I like the game of being on the edge of bad taste – that fine line.” These fancy frocks are the trophy pieces of Rich’s elevated label, which took on an ‘80s feel for spring/summer 2018 – think oversized blinged-out buttons, strong shoulders and a saturated colour palette. “Once you have a dress in your closet, you feel complete and confident,” she says.
