If virtual supermodels weren’t on your radar before, you can’t miss them now.

Balmain tapped London-based digital artist Cameron-James Wilson to create two exclusive digital models as the newest faces of the brand, in addition to one previously created by Wilson. The CGI trio — Margot, Shudu and Zhi — have their own style and personality, and are supposed to mirror “beauty,” “rock style” and “confident power” respectively.

However, virtual models are controversial in an industry that still need to address issues of underrepresentation and the treatment of real models. Will the rest of fashion follow suit?
