Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2015: It’s a Mediterranean mood for Day 2
It may have been grey and drizzly outside Day 2 of
Toronto Fashion Week, but inside the tent at David Pecaut Square we were transported to the Mediterranean. The standout shows of the day, courtesy of
Mélissa Nepton, presented enough beachy blue, green and teal pieces and floaty LWDs to make us want to book a vacation in Santorini ASAP.
Toronto-based designer Nikki Wirthensohn’s Narces line may have been inspired by Victorian birdcages, but when we saw this breezy teal confection come down the runway all we could think about were starlit seafood dinners on the beach. Right? At Bustle, husband-and-wife designer duo Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow showed a number of holiday-ready looks for guys and girls in all shades of aqua, royal blue and kelly green. Our fave? This chic summer shorts suit and printed blouse combo:
But our favourite look of the day came courtesy of Montreal’s Mélissa Nepton, whose collection of sporty separates also included a number of white sundresses that we want to live in all summer.
Oh, and those chunky white sandals? They’re part of Nepton’s expanded line, which now includes shoes and jewellery. Yes, please!
