Toronto Brand Vitaly is Having a Funeral for Their Clothing Line

All good things must come to an end, and for Toronto-based label Vitaly, that means saying good-bye to their clothing line.

Since first launching eight years ago as a men’s accessories label, the brand has become known internationally for their head-turning, contemporary gender-neutral pieces and experimental approach to design—think chunky chain chokers and geometric rings made of stainless steel.

As a follow-up to the overwhelming popularity of their jewellery pieces, Vitaly expanded to bring their youthful, street-ready ethos to an equally successful clothing collection in 2013.

“Clothing was a passion project for us,” explained designer and CEO Shane Vitaly Foran in an email. “But as the company grew, the clothing division began to take up more and more of our time, eventually pulling us away from what we are best at—producing design-forward accessories.”

Since re-focusing the brand back to accessories (which they’ll continue to sell at their flagship and online), they’re now dropping up to two new pieces every week (we love the heavy duty chained Komponent belt and the bold Integer bracelet in a shiny gold tone). And to mark this new chapter, Vitaly is having a “funeral” on May 24—complete with music, drinks and possibly a coffin—to give its clothing line a proper and final farewell.

For loyal fans of the brand’s clothing, this weekend will be the last chance to get their hands on a piece, with the entire collection up to 70 percent off.

The sale will take place May 25-26 at the Vitaly flagship store on 505 Queen St. West, Toronto.
