It’s that time of year again, when Tinseltown’s biggest stars flock to Toronto to clink glasses, pose on the red carpet, and enjoy the numerous gifting suites at the Toronto International Film Festival. Here are our picks for what we’d like to see Hollywood’s boldfaced names wear on the red carpet during their Toronto visit.

TIFF star: Kristen Stewart

Backgrounder: Stewart will be making her first official public appearance since the now infamous Robert Pattinson/Rupert Sanders cheating scandal to promote the film version of Jack Kerouac’s classic
On the Road.

Signature style: Stewart’s edgy red carpet style is well documented—she is famous for donning mini dresses that show off her endless legs, and It labels like Proenza Schouler and Balenciaga. Her looks are often paired with a bold lip and (of course!) her signature scowl.

Our picks: This is a make-or-break moment in Stewart’s career, and she needs a look that says: “Everyone makes mistakes, don’t I look fabulous?” We think Stewart should take her cues from the master of career reinvention,
Victoria Beckham. Why not Beckham’s military inspired frock? Because Hollywood, much like love, is a battlefield.

TIFF star: Elle Fanning

Backgrounder: This 14-year old actress (and
Dakota’s little sister!) has already worked with the likes of Steven Spielberg and Sofia Coppola. She will be at TIFF to promote her film
Ginger and Rosa, which also stars Annette Bening and Christina Hendricks.

Signature style: It’s no secret that Fanning has some major style chops. She’s appeared in short films for Rodarte, campaigns for Marc Jacobs and in editorials for every major fashion magazine. She tends to favour youthful, full-skirted dresses and neutral hues.

Our picks: We would love to see Fanning in one of the beautiful frocks from Raf Simon’s final collection for Jil Sander. The asymmetrical bubblegum coloured dress is from the Jil Sander collection is a little more fashion-forward than we’re used to seeing on Fanning, but it is still age-appropriate for the teenaged starlet.

TIFF star: Marion Cotillard

Backgrounder: French actress Marion Cotillard epitomizes old-Hollywood elegance and grace. Cotillard will be at TIFF to promote
Rust and Bone, a film by Jacque Audiard about a whale trainer that has a terrible accident.

Signature style:
Cotillard is one of those rare actresses who has somehow never landed on a worst dressed list. She tends to favour
sophisticated, classic pieces and silhouettes that will never go out of style.

Our picks: We think it’s time for Cotillard to take a fashion risk. Marion, we fashion dare you
to try one of this season’s OTT baroque pieces, like this opulent Aquilano.Rimondi dress. Who says drama only belongs on the big screen?

TIFF Star:

Gwyneth Paltrow

Backgrounder: Paltrow will be in Toronto for the premiere of
Thanks for Sharing, a dramatic comedy where Paltrow plays a recovering sex addict.

Signature style:
Paltrow is famous for looking flawless. Whether she’s on the red carpet for the Academy Awards or snapped by the paparazzi on her down time, Paltrow favours classic pieces with a twist—who could forget the
stunning cream Tom Ford number (with matching cape!) she wore to last year’s Academy Awards?

Our picks: Since Paltrow is not afraid to take risks (in clothing or in movies!) we’d love to put her in a head-to-toe patterned suit, like this one from Prada. We know Miuccia would approve!
