What: After a spanking new, Tuscan-style reno, the Vancouver Salvatore Ferragamo boutique has re-opened its doors and will feature men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, as well as handbags, luggage, accessories and, of course, shoes.
When: Just re-opened this weekend.
Where: 918 Robson St.
Buzzworthy notes: Exclusive to Canada, the newly renovated boutique will also feature three selections of shoes from the limited-edition Creations line, a curated pick of re-issued styles from Marilyn Monroe’s collection, available for purchase.
Status: Standing on their own
What: Philadelphia-based brand of hippie chic, Free People opens its first Canadian boutique in Yorkville August 3, with a grand opening event August 2; a second shop at Calgary’s Chinook Centre is set to open August 31.
When: Grand opening event takes place in-store on August 2, from 6 to 8PM.
Where: 79 Yorkville Ave.

What: VNB Photo, the French photog duo of Virginie Lamarche and Bastien Desfriches Doria, are hosting film photography classes in their now-homeland of Vancouver.
When: Basics of 35 mm film photography crash course, Saturday August 5, 10AM to 1Pm.
Where: Cineworks, Vancouver’s Independent Filmmakers Society, Annex at 235 Alexander St.
Buzzworthy notes: Develop your inner Alfred Hitchcock in reel life with three-hour crash courses, three-week ateliers and six-week workshops covering everything from intro to 35 mm film, experimental B&W photography and contemporary documentary, offered throughout August.

What: The largest music fest in Canada, Montreal’s OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival takes the stage with three days of outdoor concerts (and
summer festival fashion).
When: August 3 to 5.
Where: Parc-Jean Drapeau on Ile Ste-Hélène.
Buzzworthy notes: A musical tsunami of Canadian (Feist, Metric) and international stylings (The Shins, Florence + The Machine), plus headliner Snoop Dogg and music fest-circuit faves The Black Keys.
Status: Now open for more (female) business
What: The four-storey Rideau Street landmark streetwear shop, NRML, just opened a 1,600-square foot boutique, NRML Femme, on the second floor.
When: Newly unveiled last week.
Where: 184 Rideau St.
Buzzworthy notes: A youthful, Byward Market favourite since it opened in 1997, the shop carries over 60 independent labels, plus lines such as Against Nudity, Canada Goose, Toms and Vans.
