The global sports brand is repping the 6ix in its new concept store on Queen West. The brand called upon local illustrator Gyimah Gariba to customize its space, one of many “neighbourhood” stores that can be found around the globe. Don’t feel left out, Montreal and Vancouver: Renos are under way at certain locations.

Even the most well-meaning salesperson can be more annoying than your little sis. But at Rebecca Minkoff’s flagship store in Manhattan, you don’t have to interact with anyone at all thanks to self-checkout. (There’s also an app that shows you how to style clothes and find different colours and looks.) The service is rolling out to other U.S. locations, but social shoppers shouldn’t worry: A digital wall allows you to request help from actual humans. Bonus: You can also order champagne.

Let us count the ways we love the change rooms in the luxury eco-friendly label’s San Fran store. 1. You order your pieces via a touch screen. 2. They appear in your change room as if by magic (actually a wardrobe with a false back so a salesperson can hang your clothes inside without you ever having to make eye contact). 3. You can request new sizes simply by clicking a button. 4. Most important, the lighting is better than an Instagram filter.

    Aldo

Aldo’s sprawling 27,000-square-metre Montreal headquarters includes a room dedicated to virtual-reality testing. The experiential technology is used to pilot new store concepts and refine future designs. And the innovation doesn’t stop there. The brand is rolling out an Uber-like app at 600 of its stores, enabling shoppers to request a style and size with their phones and without the need to flag a sales associate.
