Uniqlo and Clare Waight Keller have teamed up once again to take over your fall wardrobe.

The Japanese brand and acclaimed British designer have just dropped their new fall/winter 2024 Uniqlo : C collection, the specialized line headed by Waight Keller. The latest collection of elevated LifeWear pieces boasts all the hallmarks the former Givenchy artistic director is known for: an effortless, sophisticated aesthetic, clean lines, keen attention to the little details. Find staple essentials and autumnal go-tos, including oversized blazers, cropped puffer vests, sleeveless cashmere sweaters, elegant maxi dresses, padded clogs and more that will fit seamlessly into everyday life.

“I started out this season looking back into London—I found that one of the places I had never really looked into before is the Barbican. It’s a building I’ve loved and known for a long time, and what’s really interesting about it is that it’s like a city in city—it’s in the middle of central London, but it’s own city with a school, a theatre, it’s got ponds, it’s got cafés, it’s got concert spaces, almost like it’s own little village,” Waight Keller told ELLE Canada from the collection’s launch event in New York City. “There’s this really youthful population there, and I kind of got inspired by who these people are—always commuting, living in this cool industrious space. That influenced the colour palette, the fabrics, the performance in the fabrics. That was the starting point.”

The womenswear collection also includes a new fabrication addition to Uniqlo’s popular warm-weather-layering HeatTech line, a fine knitted cashmere blend that has been used in both crewneck and turtleneck styles.

And that’s not all the newness coming to Uniqlo : C. For the first time, Waight Keller has introduced menswear to the line, with pieces like tailored jackets, lambswool-blend sweaters and parachute pants. “Because I always crossover between men’s and women’s—in terms of inspiration and in my wardrobe—it was nice to be able to say, ‘Right, now I’m going to design all these pieces that you’re going to be able to shop as a woman or a guy,” she said, adding that she views many of the pieces as genderless. “It’s a really modern way of dressing.”

There was more to celebrate at the launch event than a refreshed fall wardrobe. Earlier this week, Waight Keller—who has previously won Womenswear Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2018 and famously designed Meghan Markle’s wedding dress while at Givenchy—was also named creative director of Uniqlo. The new title means the designer will oversee the entire mainline of the brand, while still working on Uniqlo : C. “It’s so exciting because it’s such a democratic company—we really are designing for all,” Waight Keller said. “It’s a really joy to think that, ‘My God, I’m going to have so many people dressing in clothes that I’ve designed.’”

The 2024 fall/winter Uniqlo : C collection is available to shop in select stores and online as of September 5, with prices ranging from $29.90 to $199.90.
