Celebrating the fact that every person on the planet moves in some way, shape or form, H&M Move aims to make physical activity more accessible through its newest collection. “Removing barriers to sport is at the heart of what we’re all about, starting with democratizing sportswear,” says Simon Brown, managing director of H&M Move, in a statement.

The collection will kick off in style with a global campaign featuring renowned choreographer JaQuel Knight (who has choreographed memorable routines for Beyoncé, among others) and the fabulous Jane Fonda; 40 years later the actress reprises her role as a workout instructor in a fast-paced video!

“I’ve spent a lot of my life getting people moving and I was naturally drawn to the mission of H&M Move, which is to get the world moving,” says the Oscar-winning actress, activist and fitness icon. For me, it’s not about working out or being the most athletic. It’s about giving your body the kind of movement it needs to stay healthy so it can take care of you.”

This first unisex collection, using innovative design and advanced technology, includes functional tops, lightweight jackets and a wide selection of tights and bras, as well as items specifically designed for training and running. Its design is based on the use of 4 exclusive materials including DryMove™ – which helps to move moisture away from the skin, ShapeMove™ – which provides extra support during movement and StormMove™ – a breathable material that protects against rain and wind.

 

In line with H&M’s environmental ambitions to have 100% of materials recycled or sourced more sustainably by 2030, the H&M Move collection uses almost 85% recycled materials including 99% recycled polyester and either organic, recycled, or BCI (Better Cotton Initiative: a non-profit organization that educates cotton farmers to use water efficiently, preserve natural habitats, reduce the use of harmful chemicals, and respect workers’ rights).

 

The H&M Move collection launches on August 4 in-store and online.
