Quebec-based content creator and founder of the accessory brand Essaim, Julie-Anne Ho has a new challenge: to inspire women’s sense of style and fashion choices on the reg by posting a different outfit every day on her Instagram (@julieanneho). Starting on August 14, the posts will be show-cased once a week on ELLE Canada’s social-media platforms for a new series called 365 Days of Looks. Known for being part of the popular Quebec reality dating show Occupation Double, Ho quickly gained recognition on social media—and gathered quite a fan base—by showcasing her fashion expertise and, later, launching her brand. We spoke with Ho ahead of her year-long undertaking to find out what her game plan is and where she’ll find inspiration.

How do you plan to make this concept your own?

“My goal is to inspire as many women as possible in their daily lives. We’ll publish one look per day on my Instagram account, and readers will be able to find all the details about that particular outfit—along with purchase links—on ellecanada.com. Every Monday, we’ll share a recap of the seven looks of the week on ELLE Canada’s TikTok and Instagram accounts. I want this project to become a reference for places to shop, tips for creating a responsible wardrobe and styling advice.”

Creating 365 different looks is a massive task. Where do you think you’ll find inspiration to keep it fresh and interesting?

“It’s probably a professional bias, but my first instinct has always led me to social media. My current fave on Instagram is stylist Dani Michelle, the genius behind a lot of Kendall Jenner’s, Hailey Bieber’s and Elsa Hosk’s looks. I also have the opportunity to travel a lot, which exposes me to different fashion approaches. I observe from a distance and draw inspiration from my surroundings.”

What trends are catching your eye this season?

“I’m delighted by quiet luxury. It stands out for its authenticity and timelessness. There’s a sense of respect and slowness in the choice of each piece, which I really appreciate. Instead of investing in an extravagant wardrobe that will last only for a little while, I like to opt for quality fabrics, minimalist cuts and neutral tones. Since I embarked on this fashion shift, I’ve realized how simple it is to get dressed in the morning. Clean cuts and muted colours help my creativity!”
