LG Fashion Week, Spring 2011: Day One
Canada’s cool collective

Day One of LG Fashion Week really couldn’t have started off any better. So much so, we forgot it was a Monday (and the start of a very long week), forgot about the near-impossible-to-get-to venue (Heritage Court at Exhibition Place, in case you were wondering), even forgot about our missed dinners and training sessions at the gym. Why? Holt Renfrew, Canada’s premiere fashion purveyor, managed to ignite and hold all of our senses with a runway presentation showcasing our country’s top talent. It was fitting to have Montreal’s Denis Gagnon rub shoulders with Jeremy Laing; Lida Baday presented alongside Pink Tartan, Smythe was a nice compliment to Line Runway and Mikhael Kale… Well, please, the man stands alone (His jumpsuit with armoured shoulders is all we could think about on the taxi ride home.) The night set off a very inspiring tone for what’s to come in the week ahead. Check out the photos of the showcase after the jump and stay tuned here for daily updates on the shows, backstage beauty, style snaps and more.
