Marimekko for Banana Republic This is what spring looks like at
Banana Republic: Juicy colours, poppy prints and cuts fit for early afternoons spent sipping sweet libations on a patio. Starting tomorrow, the retailer is launching its limited-edition collection with Finnish design house
Marimekko—and, friends, it’s pretty fantastic.
This isn’t the career wear go-to’s first hook-up—last year saw a coveted collab with
Issa London, and the style set is already abuzz about this fall’s
Roland Mouret capsule—but it may just be its hottest. Pieces have already been spotted and snapped on the most stylish celebs (
Jamie Chung and
Olivia Palermo, of course), even though the line hasn’t yet officially launched.   Banana-Republic-Marimekko-1

Marimekko has been around since the 1950s and has recently seen a resurgence in popularity of its megawatt textiles, which adorn everything from furnishings to clothing and accessories. Best known for its bold blooms, Marimekko’s prints are a perfect fit for peppy summer outfits.

Shorts come in an array of bold colours and prints

The 20-plus-piece capsule collection of dresses, separates and accessories (think polka-dot ballet flats and colourful clutch purses) sees classic BR silhouettes reimagined in technicolour. Best of all, the apparel is made with natural fibres, so you’ll feel as fresh as you look, even in 30+ temps.

Marimekko is most loved for its vibrant floral prints

A floaty maxi dress in a sky-blue floral print is perfect for summer weddings—or just lounging in the backyard. And we can pretty much guarantee you’re going to want to live in the selection of smart shorts in garden-party hues all summer.

A maxi dress ft for any summer event Items range in price from just $50 to $175, and will be available
online and in select Banana Republic stores starting May 22. You might want to start lining up now.
