Prabal Gurung
Prabal Gurung once again took his runway show as an opportunity to make a feminist statement. #MeToo founder Tarana Burke was in the front row, and backstage, posters with mantras like “I am woman. What’s your superpower?” and “You are the present, you are the future, you rule the world—walk with intention” were posted all over the walls. The finale was silent, with all the models walking out holding handfuls of white roses as a sign of solidarity and support.
Tory Burch
Don't let the thousands of pink carnations fool you—this was a fall/winter show. Held at Bridge Market, once Manhattan's most upscale and prettiest super market, the show was an ode to all things ’70s. Fluttery tulip hems, shearling coats and painterly prints were romantic and practical in equal measure.

Christian Siriano
Christian Siriano celebrated 10 years in the biz with a theatrical collection. Cheers erupted when Ashley Graham opened the show in a red robe coat. They continued when Siriano's famous pals, Danielle Brooks and Selma Blair hit the runway. Guests, which included Cardi B, Whoopi Goldberg and Laverne Cox, were treated to a visual feast of frothy gowns, slinky metallic cocktail wear and dramatic flourishes. Red carpet season is upon us, we'll be seeing these looks again.

Self Portrait
Self Portrait is perhaps best known for it's lacey, playful (but always wearable) cocktail wear. This time, the label offered up some intriguing daywear options. Leather layers were pierced with oval cutouts for edgy, streetwise looks.

Hellessy
This burgeoning brand has already cemented its reputation for crafting dramatic clothes for women who like to make an entrance. Sweeping hems, romantic layers and plenty of watered silk was on offer. A green robe dress was a particular standout as well as the high-low mix of checkered workwear trousers with romantic blush pink tunics. We're living in an age of disappearing dress codes, so these clothes feel especially relevant.

Eckhaus Latta
To get a look from the latest from art-house brand Ekhaus Latta, showgoers had to trek to Brooklyn (in the rain!). It was worth it to see how the cult brand is elevating their look, namely via tailoring and elevated materials.

Cushnie et Ochs
Another label to celebrate 10 years this season, the beloved-by-women everywhere brand presented a no-nonsense lineup of slinky dresses and jumpsuits. There weren't a lot of tricks (save for a few cutouts and feather details), just impeccably tailored, and modern outfits. This meant that Herieth Paul's closing look—a slinky, sheer and sparkly dress, along with a foot-stomping performance from Aluna George, was the right exciting note to end on.
