On September 19th, Vancouver Fashion Week returns for its 28th season.  Over 100 designers from around the world will show over the course of 7 days. Here are three names we’re keeping our eye on.

Vestige Story

This Made-in-Canada label is rooted in mindfulness, of craftsmanship, durability and the environment. Known for their vintage-y, printed cotton separates, the brand is carried in boutiques across Canada. Could this label be Canada’s answer to Rachel Comey?

Slate Jewellery

Vancouverite Christine Rio forges her earrings, cuffs and necklaces from copper and silver. Inspired by the floral and the aquatic, the pieces have an intriguing, rough-around-the-edges quality.

SCHAI

New York-based Suk Chai gave up a design gig at Nordstrom to head up her own label, which puts the focus on texturally rich garments like cocoon coats, belted blazers and cropped trousers. It’s a tailored, androgynous and edgy take on uniform dressing.
