When you think of the house of
Chanel, what comes to mind? Strings of pearls, perhaps. That iconic camellia. What about
Balmain? We credit them for bringing bold shoulders back, whilst
Donna Karan’s entire empire could be attributed to her deft skills at dramatic draping. You’re probably wondering where I’m going with this … My point: Attention, they say, is always in the detail. And when it comes to fashion — with all of its illustrious manifestations — a designer hones his craft to come up with what us editors refer to as his “signature look”; one that is often imitated, but rarely outdone.
