It’s funny how glitzy, international events can sometimes introduce you to beautiful and one-of-a-kind finds from your own backyard. That’s what happened to me last month during TIFF while visiting the First Weekend Club’s Canadian Film Lounge at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel when I was introduced to the hand-sculpted and stunningly intricate pieces by Canadian designer Amanda Parker, who creates delicate necklaces, earring and bracelets from polymer clay, like
this bird’s nest-inspired piece. The B.C.-based designer also creates decorative plates and artwork using glass, cold porcelain and recycled materials, which are sold on
etsy.com.
