Harley Viera-Newton is no novice to the fashion circuit, so when Rudsak asked the IT girl to model for their 20th anniversary runway show at World Mastercard Fashion Week and spin at their after party, it seemed like a match made in
fashion week heaven. Fashion and music run through her like cocktails on a Friday night. Her dad signed the Spice Girls (my tween self is screaming "Girl Power" right now) and her mom, a former model, co-created Tom Binns jewellery. If that wasn’t enough, her regular clique includes some of the
coolest girls in fashion, like BFF
Alexa Chung and model Jessica Stam. So, naturally I had to get her to dish everything from her personal style to favourite songs to what she just has way too many pieces of.

How would you describe your personal style? I wear a lot of vintage. I like to feel comfortable and at ease, not looking like I’m in an outfit — that sort of drives me crazy. Casual day-to-night looks are my go-to.
Do you have any key tips transitioning from day-to-night? I usually wear a uniform of a vintage mini-dress with tights and boots in the winter, and at night I’ll change boots to heels. It instantly transitions it!
Who is your style icon? My mom. I’ve slowly been dressing more and more like her. She has that effortless feel where she always looks put together but it never looks too much. She has an amazing vintage collection and I’m slowly stealing some pieces to make them my own.

Have you inherited your mother’s love for jewellery? I like more everyday pieces that I sort of live in. I’ve worn this bracelet for two years, my mom gave me these earrings for my birthday, my boyfriend made me my necklace. They are all very meaningful pieces. Every now and then I’ll put on a really fun pair of earrings like the Dior Tribals.
What is you best vintage find of all time? I’m a gingham-psycho addict but one of the best finds was this amazing vintage Chanel dress that I found in Miami. That was a big find for me.
Every girl has that one item they have far too many of – handbags, shoes or jewelry – what would you say yours is? Probably
gingham dresses. I don’t need another gingham dress but I will definitely be buying another gingham dress in the future.
How does music and fashion connect for you? I think they’ve always played off each other and always inspired each other, foverer, since the beginning.
What are your top two songs of the moment? I really love the new Hiam video that just came out,
If Only I could Change Your Mind.  I love the Blood Orange song
You’re not Good Enough, it’s great.
Describe yourself in 3 words Crazy cat lady. I’m feeling Grey Gardens — cats all around me, cats sleeping, cats fighting…I’m already there.
